" Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: "WOW! what a ride!!!" -- Anonymous

Thinking About Education
My personal philosophy on teaching is that we, as educators, are responsible to help students learn how to learn, how to think and how to apply important information and reasoning skills. We must find strategies to meet students at their current level and develop a plan to support their academic achievement and personal success. I firmly believe in empowering students to take charge of their own academic and personal journeys. As an Education Specialist, this is achieved not only through differentiated instructional techniques but also through direct instruction geared toward teaching students how to use assistive technology and think outside of the box to overcome deficits. I believe in the power of an educator to help students increase their self-esteem, self-worth and awareness of the unique value that they bring to society. It is my goal to be a positive influence in the lives of each of my students and to help every individual move closer to achieving their highest potential.
